Ece | 1 comments Hello everyone! I discovered Tolkien when I was 10, and he has been my favourite author since. I was wondering if anyone here has got some interesting memories or anecdotes about the time they started reading Tolkien…

Clifford Luebben | 1 comments When I was in middle school, several of the other kids in my small Baptist church were reading Tolkien and kept talking about him, including who some who usually liked the same books I did, so I decided to give a The Hobbit a try and by my sophomore year I had already The Silmarillion.

Reagan Chiu (reaganreadsfantasy) | 1 comments I had been aware of Tolkien for a long time (in context of my parents talking about how my aunt and uncle let my cousins watch LOTR when they were about 6-8 yrs old, thats too scary for kids!) But I finally decided to see what the big deal was myself started reading the books in 6th grade, and been obsessed ever since!

Max Will I finally watched all three Lord of the Rings movies when I was 18. I fell in love with them and in the 10 years since I have watched them multiple times. In the past couple years I have delved into Tolkien’s books and have fallen more in love with Middle Earth.

Barry Wells | 2 comments I watch the Rankin Bass version of The Hobbit when it cami out in 1977. I received the book for Christmas and read it. I quickly went out and got LOTR and devoured it.

message 7: by Dea (new)

Dea | 6 comments I first listened to The Hobbit in audiobook format because a roommate had been nagging me to read it and she can be very convincing when she chooses. I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy because they were (and still are) the favorite books of a new friend I had made and I wanted to get to know them better through the books they had read.

Eunika | 1 comments I discovered Tolkien when the Peter Jackson movies came out. Though it took me until 4 years ago to actually read the books.

Mia 🎀 | 1 comments hi💕 loved the movies when my ex forced me to watch them maybe 5 years ago. In 2020 i started obsessively watching videos explaining everything and tried to read the silmarillion pdf and failed because i didn’t tend to read much other than school. this past October 2023 i started my collection bought a bunch of books at once. in a month I’ve read in this order: the silmarillion, the hobbit & beren and luthien, the fellowship of the ring & the children of hurin, reading two towers & fall of gondolin right now. these books have been making me sooo so happy 🤎🤎🤎🤎 can’t wait to finish lotr, next is unfinished tales and then i start with history of middle earth
