Well, I decided to change my book. I tried yesterday and again today and just can't get into my chosen book right now. So, I changed it to:

Book 2 of the series
5 stars
Read 4/3/15
I loved this book when I read the entire series in 2012 and still loved it today. I very rarely reread books but I needed a cozy read and one of my go to authors – Nora Roberts.
I love how the girls in the book have grown up together and now work and even live together- at least on the same property. Each book brings us closer to another match made in heaven. This book centers on Emma (one of my favorites) and Jack. As the florist of Vows, a wedding planning business, Emma is the romantic and never has a trouble finding a date. However, finding love is the problem. Emma and Jack have been best friends since childhood and suddenly realize that they may be feeling more than just friendship. This is an easy read for a lazy day!

We haven't heard from Bouchra at all yet either, although I did ask her to check in after the roll so we knew that she at least saw it.

I still have to write mine, but I finished my book last night.

2nd in a series

Wow this book packed a punch. It was supposed to be an "in between the books novella" and while it had that novella feel, it also had the roller coaster ride of a full length novel. I love Easy, I like what he brings the group, but I had no idea what he was going through. I really appreciate the way that Laura Kaye handle Easy in this book.
I also liked that Jenna had a very similar situation, although not nearly as deep as Easy's. I think Easy and Jenna were great together. It was really easy to forget their differences and just feel with them.
I love this series and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

Sometimes giving in to the problem and moving on to do other things works. My connection is quite great now, I just have to boot up my laptop and get the review written :)

So I was waiting to see if I could use this for another challenge because I didn't want to read it otherwise because I wasn't that crazy about Book 1 in this series. Well it was usable and so I could read it and I'm really glad I did because I find I DO like this author's writing after all. I had issues with believability of the prior book, and while this certainly has a more modern sensibility than I'm sure would be actual I felt the relationship here was less fantasy and more real. Two childhood friends who grow up very poor and have to make their way in the world. It was kind of nice to read a historical that wasn't about rich people visiting the tailor LOL. I will read more by this author in the future.

Review: I loved it. I read the first book so long ago and didn't remember anything but I caught up quickly. Maybe because I read the first one a while ago I really didn't like Valek. He had some cool parts but I don't trust him. There is something wrong with him. I do not know why but I really wanted Yelena to forget all about him and Ixia and focus on her training and her family.
Now speaking about her family, I loved the mother and father. There were accepting and genuine. I loved Leif, he was an ass most of the time but I was waiting for the moment when they would connect and start acting like brother and sister. I feared that this was not going to happen because untill the very last pages of the book they hadnt talked or discussed anything. But thankfully they got their moment.
I liked the plot a lot. There were some really funny scenes and very touching ones. I loved how Yelena and Kiki coonnected and shared a bond.
Overall, I really loved it and can not wait to read the next one.

This book started off a little slow to me, but now that I’m finished with it, I understand why. We really needed to follow Bree on her journey and become immersed in her world before we could get into the beauty that was Bree and Archer’s story. I really loved how quickly this book picked up after the slow burn of the first 30-35%. Even when the book was moving slowly, I still couldn’t put it down. There was no chance of a DNF or that I’d put it down to “finish it later”. I needed to know how Bree found herself again. I needed to know what Archer’s deal was and who he was and why.
This was quite the emotional trip and I loved every second of it. There was a point when I nearly had a tantrum. I almost lost my cool and I even loved that moment, despite the fact that my blood pressure was elevated and I wanted to scream. I am really intrigued by Mia Sheridan’s ability to tell a poignant story. I look forward to reading more by her in the near future.

I had this on my TBR forever, I bought it when it was for sale for 99 cents and getting lots of positive reviews. I finally read it because it came up in another challenge. Well, I'm glad to be rid of it because I really didn't like it. It was boring for about 75%, then there was a fairly offensive scene, and then of course it all wraps up with a HEA but by then I didn't care. I wasn't interested in Gabe and Mia, not alone and not as a couple. Ugh

I read this in December I think and didn't like it either. I gave it 2 stars but thought about only giving it 1.

I know how that goes!

Read Book 2 in the Montgomery Series

4.5 stars rounded to 5.
Very rarely do I read a second book in a series and love it more than the first. I loved meeting the Montgomery clan in book 1 and getting to know their loving family. Texas Tango definitely does not disappoint. I was hooked from page 1 and was not ready for it to end.
Dr. Carolyn Graham has found herself in Texas spending as much time with her great uncle as possible before he died. Growing up, Carolyn did not experience much of a family life since her parents traveled the world helping those less fortunate. Continuing with their legacy, Carolyn travels from city to city filling in where needed. Her contract in Texas is one of the longest locations where she has actually stayed and has met some friends.
With her great uncle’s passing, Carolyn has inherited his property. Travis Montgomery wants said property. Travis was widowed when his young wife succumbed to cancer. Vowing to never love again, Travis is content to farm is land and be a loner. Carolyn’s beloved grandmother is dying and her final wish is for Carolyn to settle down and find love. In order to honor her grandmother’s dying wishes, Carolyn offers her great uncle’s land to Travis; of course, there is a catch. Her requirement is that Travis will have to give her a fake marriage.
When I first read the write up of this one, I thought that it was going to be another sappy romance. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised that it was so much more. Cynthia D’Alba is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I am not going to delay in reading book 3!

Paris, I have been trying to write a review on Eternal Riderfor two days. I finally did it this am but I am still not happy with it! At least, it's done.

Review: Well, it was a bit of a let-down. I expected a lot more for the third and final book and it did not deliver. I think that the last two books could make one chunkier, but good book. There was no Fire study, as the title of the book promissed, just Yelena being afraid of the fire and of who she is and stuff. Throuought the whole series there was this constant that people ask Yelena for help or whatever and she promises but says not now. Every damn time. There was so much anguish it was unbelievable. Everyone was angry with Yelena for something. She was acting stupid. One thing is that I loved Valek again. I was remainded why I did in the first place and enjoyed his part. I really didn't think that he died at that one moment. The horses don't call him Ghost for no reason.
Overall, It was still really good, but it was not as good as a final book should be.

What makes me the craziest is when I love a book, but I still can't write a review. Then when I do, it's a basic, poorly written one even though if you talk to me about the book, I'll gush like crazy about it.

Sorry for letting it go on this long, but we were hoping that it would work itself out. Thank you all for being so understanding and patient and not quitting, which I'm sure we've all wanted to do. While this is supposed to be fun, I'm competitive as all get out and I want to win, dang it. lol And honestly, it is not all that fun, when your stressing about the roll, or about reading cause the roll was late or when you're watching the other teams roll and your team is waiting.
We completely understand and hopefully, we will kick some butt going forward.
Bouchra, we definitely want you to continue to play, so please read along and post with us, but don't feel stressed out about getting your review in late.

Thanks Paris and Mods. I couldn't have said it better. I am competitive also but even more than that want to knock out some of my lingering series by reading with this group. Let's move forward and have some fun.

Not many options here, so I'll take a 3!
I plan to read

#3 in the Eternal Guardian series

Thanks to you & the mods for a workable ruling

So the good news is I had bought this series at least a year ago when it was on sale but I hadn't read it.. so I can scratch that off. But bleh. The 2nd book of the series was actually a slight improvement but with this 3rd one it just dropped back into absolutely ridiculous. I can take instalove but only if there is eventually some support for why these 2 are together and it's just not here. Then there was the repetition of the "Oh the girls are going to go out and get drunk and it'll be so fun for the guys" and finally, by the 3rd book the hero sounded like Kristen Ashley character but without any of the appealing parts so...

Read 3rd book in series

As in the prior two books, Princess Isadora is in trouble and the Guardians must find and save her. In Entwined, Demetrius said that he would rather die than wed Isadora. We find in this book the reason why Demetrius was so nasty to a woman that he fantasized about. Isadora also transitioned from being a weak female to one to be reckoned with. What threw me off was Demetrius’ lineage. One would think as an Eternal Guardian, his background would have been known. However, the fact that he was part witch was not known to anyone nor was his parental lineage. I am looking forward to Orpheus’ story and learning more about this world and Greek Mythology.

I re-read one of my favorite books of all time Shadow Kiss

Review: I remembered why I loved this series. It has always been one of my favorites. It is action packed, Rose and Dmitri finally get together, even for a little bit and thank God I know what happens next because otherwise I would have been devasted after the end.
One thing that bugged me was Lissa at the end. She and Christian are one of my favorite characters and Lissa annoyed me a little bit.
This is my favorite one because of the plot and the whole pretend assaintment of Rose(Christian).
overall I'm glad it is there for me to re-read whenever I can because I don't think I could live without it.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I have no idea what made me wait so long to read this one. I absolutely loved Gray. He was sweet and hot and strong. And I loved Sam. Her strength and resilience was so amazing. I could gush forever about this book and these characters. Gray's big gesture...so freaking sweet.
I can't wait to read more in this series.

I love Jenn Bennett's Arcadia Bell series and I had a feeling I'd love the Roaring Twenties if I could just sit down and read it. And I was right. I loved this book. Winter and Aida were both such amazing characters. Their chemistry was off the charts. There was suspense, sizzling romance and ghosts. You definitely cannot go wrong with that.
I'm a little sad that the rest of the books feature other couples, but I'm hoping that we'll see more of Aida and Winter...and I'm excited that Bo and Astrid will be in book three!

I liked this more than Kiss At Midnight. Eloisa James is very clever and there is a lot of playing with Fairy Tales and language and literary history. The relationships sometimes get a little lost with the cleverness, that's what I felt happened a bit in book 1, but Book 2 worked a bit better and Book 3 is my favorite.

Book #8 in the series
Completed 4/13/15
4.25 stars
This is a reread for me and the same amount of stars from the original read. I really enjoy visiting Lucky Harbor. All of the books in the series have been quite enjoyable. I enjoyed this one as well but not as much as the others. I think it was because Leah and Jack had been best friends since early childhood. Now, that Leah lost a break during a reality cooking show she has returned with her tail between her legs to her hometown of Lucky Harbor. Jack’s mother is ill with her second bout of cancer. To cheer her up, Leah and Jack have cooked up a scheme where they pretend to be a couple. One thing leads to another and they are the next “victim” to fall prey to Lucille’s Facebook hall of shame.
This series continues to wow me, which is rather unusual given that this is book #8. Typically, I get tired of the series after book 4 but I am always eager to read another.
I am finding that after a while I miss this small town and their inhabitants like old friends and have to get back to visit.

Review: It was entertaining to say the least. My favorite thing about this book is all the ninja talk and the terms and stuff. I do martial arts too so that was cool to see another type of martial art. However, the writing wasn't one of the best. There were some things that happened too fast or weren't explained and the plot felt undeveloped. Everyone turned out to be a ninja in disguise or somehow connected to them. I felt like I was seeing a Disney or Nickelodeon tv show.
Sometimes the characters just did absolutelly stupid things like when Amy and Tosh were still secretly dating and them and their friends went to that ball and Amy kissed him. They were in front of their dates, friends and all the people that knew them. Not to think that they blew their covers so many times that it was no wonder that the bad guys found out who they were and where they lived.
The whole thing about the soul mates was really cliche and hackneyed.
Overall, I liked it but there were some things that bugged me so much that I sometimes laughed at the stupidity.
