My favorite among all the books mentioned in the opening post, was “God or Nothing” by Cardinal Sarah. I still like it more than “The idol of our age”.I have liked Mahoney’s book more than Archbishop Chaput’s book, and also more than Cardinal Sarah’s “The power of silence”.
I liked Cardinal Sarah's God or Nothing: A Conversation on Faith and The Day is Now Far Spent more than Mahoney's book, and The Power of Silence: Against the Dictatorship of Noise about the same. I liked Senior's book somewhat less.
John wrote: "We also read the Benedict Option - how does it rank with these others?"
I may be mistaken, but I think "The Benedict Option" put more emphasis on trying to find a solution to current problems than on diagnosing them, as the other books I mentioned. And I don't believe that the solution is setting groups of families following the rule of St. Benedict.

Not to toot my own horn . . . okay to toot my own horn, a book I co-uthored, "The Greater Reset," analyzes the problem and offers a solution.https://tanbooks.com/contemporary-iss...
