Max :3 (aubreeally) | 13 comments Personally I didn't really like it. I love that we got to see Jess all grown up though. I didn't like how they portrayed Rory and Logan

message 2: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (goodreadscomrumbelle517) | 57 comments I thought it was okay. I appreciate seeing where the characters are right now and see Emily is coping. She had the best arc. I also like seeing how grown up Jess is.

Coffee&Bookmarks | 3 comments Major nay for me 😕😭

message 4: by Bailey (new)

Bailey Weeks | 21 comments Nay. Really need a follow up because they left us hanging miserably

Max :3 (aubreeally) | 13 comments so true

message 6: by Nina (new)

Nina | 60 comments Nay, that musical…yeesh

message 7: by MK (new)

MK | 4 comments Yay for the Fall episode! ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡ love how Amy ended it by giving us sentimental scenes, it's making you wish for next episode but will make you realize it's enough to have a bit of cliffhanger for some thrill. A bit sad tho that Sookie was not there in Lorelai's midnight wedding coz she is her bestest friend (but I read somewhere that Melissa had conflicting schedules or whatso but I am still thrilled to have her in the last ep). Also, instead of Lane, Jess should've been there for Luke.

message 8: by samantha (new)

samantha aly | 17 comments huge nay. it was almost painful. none of the characters seemed to be themselves

message 9: by meadow (new)

meadow | 14 comments nay the show lost its spark i loved the whole Rory writing Gilmore girls thing but the affair and then basically taking away Lorelai’s humor was stupid in my opinion

message 10: by Kendi (new)

Kendi | 11 comments I liked it. Rory flailing in life is completely relatable. It's natural for life to throw a few curve balls, and people handle them differently. The show really portrayed how unprepared she was to deal with her situation. It was just as Lorelai said- life treated her fairly well up until that point so it was her turn. It really was a reality check that Rory desperately needed. It was interesting to see how Emily was coping after Richard's death. I would have liked to see Lorelai and Luke already married... but I liked their story as well. I wished they showed more of Lane's and Paris' children though! And Sookie! I missed her... and I wish that Jackson made an appearance too, if only for a scene or two...

message 11: by adira (new)

adira I hate that show with a burning fury. I’m serious. That montage with Logan and his kooky friends with Rory was probably the stupidest, most horribly-executed piece of film that I’ve ever seen. My sister and I kept looking at each other saying “She’s having some sort of lucid dream right now, right?”

message 12: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (goodreadscomrumbelle517) | 57 comments That’s funny you say it looks like a lucid dream considering it’s a Beetles song they used for that scene. Maybe they did on purpose like that.

Ahahahaha, that's the greatest critique I've seen in my life. Though weird, I think it was intentional, kind of a trippy 'was that even real?' vibe she'll have to look back on when she has her kid. It filled space in a weird way, but it wasn't the worst point in the series for me.

message 14: by Nina (new)

Nina | 60 comments nay

message 15: by andie (new)

andie | 3 comments I wrote a borderline dissertation when it first came out haha. It was a major nay from me. I loved Emily and every single thing related to her. I enjoyed the updated pop culture references and Kirk shenanigans and super liberal college April and just generally being back in Stars Hollow.

But I felt like they did both Rory and Lorelai SO dirty. Everyone talks about how much Rory sucked (which is on track for her character tbh, but still disappointing that she essentially regressed over the span of a decade), but Lorelai's story was even sadder for me. The series ended with her back with Luke, considering another kid, and then 10 years later they're NOT married? Their relationship hasn't changed or moved forward at all? That's depressing! I feel like they decided the fans wanted to see a Luke/Lorelai wedding (which JESS wasn't even at, so don't pretend like you did that for fans!), but I would've much rather seen Luke and Lorelai happily married, raising a kid, growing and changing together. It was such a bummer to see them still with all the same communication problems that caused them to break up in the first place that it actually convinced me they just shouldn't be together at all. Both Rory and Lorelai should be alone.

message 16: by carbon fossil (new)

carbon fossil yay, rory deserved to peak in college

message 17: by diana ౨ৎ (new)

diana ౨ৎ (dianawdsm) | 13 comments absolutely not, the only good thing was luke and lorelai tbh

message 19: by andre (new)

andre | 8 comments Nay. I didn't like it at all. The only scene I liked was when the life and death brigade reunited

ྀིྀིElly ྀིྀི | 16 comments It was so bad. it was written by daniel palladino which apparently is amy’s husband, but i don’t understand why she didn’t write it herself. The musical took up most of one of the seasons. All i could think while watching it is DID I CLICK ON GILMORE GIRLS?? what is this trash???

message 21: by madsxr3ads (new)

madsxr3ads | 4 comments Nay

message 22: by BookishBea (new)

BookishBea | 14 comments Nay for me.
I was very happy to be back in Stars Hollow again in general. Loved Emily’s arc as always. I think Lane deserved better. I was disappointed to see that Lorelai and Luke had not evolved as a couple at all… but the thing that disappointed me most was Rory’s downfall. It was realistic, but depressing. Did we really need that? Also, I feel that it would have been more coherent with the character to see her rebound, both in her career and love life. Instead, we leave her trying to spark her career by writing a memoir (so unoriginal), pregnant and alone. It seemed like they were trying to recreate the Luke-Chris triangle with Logan and Jess: please give Rory the dignity of having her own arc!

message 23: by ౨ৎ josie (new)

౨ৎ josie | 16 comments it was both for me, some episodes were yaya and others nay fall was a yay but spring was a nay for me

message 24: by ౨ৎ josie (new)

౨ৎ josie | 16 comments but to think it almost came out 10 years ago!!

message 25: by Annabelle Pip (new)

Annabelle Pip | 8 comments I didn't enjoy it at all and it seems neither did any of actors, they just didn't even want to be there, everything was so forced. I am trying to forget that I ever watched it.

message 26: by Hayden (new)

Hayden Johnson I actually really enjoyed it, I think there were some characters that should've had a larger appearance/presence in the show, rather than the short scene they were in, however it was good.

message 27: by Ant (new)

Ant | 5 comments The musical! 😖

message 28: by laiba ⭐️ (new)

laiba ⭐️ | 3 comments i've never seen it but based on what i've seen or read online, i don't think i'm really missing out on much. i'm okay with the original gilmore girls ending rather than the ayitl one because i literally hate cliffhangers 😭

message 29: by Rudy (new)

Rudy Nay… immediately disliked it when it was shown that Rory is still a cheater… and the writing…

message 30: by ♡ millie (new)

♡ millie jared ♡ | 1 comments I didnt really like it but I needed Logan and Rory to be together and they were in a sense.. I really wanted him to leave odette and then Rory and Logan to have eachother

message 31: by Potterhead (new)

Potterhead | 8 comments Nay! I loved the musical and the fact that Luke and Lorelai got married but I didn’t like anything else about it lol I HATED the ending! I need there to be a new series!

message 32: by Arielle (new)

Arielle Miller | 25 comments HATED IT!!!!!! Such a disappointment :(

message 36: by Hermione (last edited Apr 09, 2025 05:54AM) (new)

Hermione Leigh | 22 comments Neither, I din't particularly love how the story lines of some characters ended such as Sookie's, they could've had her do more Melissa McCarthy actually has come out saying they didn't ask her and she would've come back. Or Lorelai and Luke's relationship being basically on pause for all those years it doesn't make much sense. But I am happy Amy Sherman Palladino (the queen!!) was able to come back and finish what she started. The story line itself is nice but it seemed a bit off. Especially from someone who didn't have to wait for it, I watched the og show then immediately watch ayitl, all the characters changed, not as much as s6 to s7 but still. I love everything ASP writes and the whole show in general so I don't hate or anything I just wish it had ended a bit different for all involved.
