Zadie Smith’s introduction to “Recitatif” primed Sophia for the ambiguous short story. “Toni Morrison is something of a wizard, and she does a lot with not many words.”

For the most part I try not to, as it usually tells you how you should think about the book or tells you how you will feel about it. This should come natural. And let me decide if this author/illustrator/poet is The Greatest.
