This is my first read, and I got the edition that´s at the top of the thread, as I only just bought the paperback.

My first read too - and only the second GH mystery. The first foray into this genre was not encouraging, so I approach this book with some scepticism. A group read is a good opportunity to do so, and I'll give it a try.

Same paperback copy as Barb, plus the audiobook, which I LOVE, as it adds so much - the narrator does a great job with La Lola! I’ve read this 4-5 times, it’s my favorite GH mystery, and definitely top 5 for favorite GH books.

Very true! & a lot of us think this is her best mystery, so if you don't like this one, the GH mysteries probably aren't for you. :)

I'm about three quarters of the way through & I am wondering about the ethics of (view spoiler)[ Harding making his personal interest in Dinah so clear! (hide spoiler)]

I think there is an ethical problem there, but we're supposed to ignore it because of the interest it adds to the plot.

Also, he says he on his way out, so clearly not too concerned! And, (view spoiler)[she’s one character who has an alibi, on the terrace in full sight the whole time, the sergeant even points that out. (hide spoiler)]

I've read this dozens of times but am going to read it again with the group as it's always interesting to see what other people make of the various GH stories, and also prompt a re-think!
