I pre-ordered my copy, but I can't see it arriving before March 7.. hopefully it will have arrived by the 14th, and otherwise, I can join a bit late.

I am in. I think it's finally time to read this book. I have dreading due to the sheer size of it reading it with you guys will be less frightening. Haha. Are there any specific rules that we to follow for buddy reads ? Pls le me know

Welcome Raven King! Is it ok to call you Raven? We're pretty chill when it comes to BRs--regular "be polite" and use spoiler tags to hide anything spoilery. Often we'll mark things by chapter, or percentage in book, to make easier referencing when discussing.

For example:
I just finished Chapter 1 and (view spoiler)[stuff happened. (hide spoiler)]

This was planned 6 months ago, because the 2nd book comes out in February... there was actually a 2nd BR for Halloween, that wrapped up for the most part a few weeks ago... both are merging for the BR of book 2, in early March...

Felina does this thing where she puts books on hold 6 months in advance, and just delays checkout until the BR start date... maybe try that in the future?... seems to work well...

Well we don't have that long queues, if I put something on hold I get it pretty soon. And that's why I actually got this before January now too. If we get the the message that the book is available, you have to check it out or you have to pay.

(view spoiler)[This was really intriguing read, and I love how this made me laugh several times too! I really loved how the story was told: different timelines and how someone was telling his own lifestory. It was somehow hilarious how his interviewer tried to get the story from him in specific order and failed at that.
I would have loved to feel even more when someone died or during battle scenes, but I was still invested in the story. I wanted to know more and also enjoyed the journey.
I was a bit disappointed with the ending: I thought we would get to know how he lost Dior but noooooo. And not even how other silversaints died. But well. I just have to live with this ending xD (hide spoiler)]

About halfway through.. Was a little dubious in the beginning but then I kicked my own butt because I always feel that way in the firsts of a series with large fantasy tomes.. I think I might have forgotten that fact till this year because the struggle has been real with the fantasy tomes lol

Funny that this vampire chronicler feels like a Kadoshim to me. Probably because its the same narrator as the John Gwynne books....

Through Book VI, Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[ y'know I"ve been wondering if Gabriel's family is still alive through all of the "Grail" chapters.. Here he kind of confirms it. He seemed to have been cagey about it till now. The most future self, where he's telling his story to the historian I have a feeling either his wife or his daughter is dead... Not super sure about that since he'd be okay either sacrificing himself for the sake of his family, or just having no fucks to give and going to his death hoping for revenge... Can't wait to find out though. (hide spoiler)]
