Iamthesword | 253 comments I repeatedly ran into the same problem: Author names on book apges got replaced either by "unknown" (often books by well known authors) or are now linked to a weird new profile made out of the author name(s) that is only connected to one book (eg. "bertholt-brecht" instead of Brecht, Berthold). In some of the cases, the profile text has also been replaced with "Libro usado en buenas condiciones, por su antiguedad podria contener señales normales de uso". Does anyone know why this is happening?

Sandra | 31523 comments They are being imported by amazon.

Librarians are fixing them as they come across them.

Liralen | 8224 comments Import bot problems. It's an ongoing issue.

You can report to Support: https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...

You can also post in this group (with links), and someone can help fix them.

Iamthesword | 253 comments I did report it. And I continue to post them in the librarians group to fix it. Thanks.

The weird thing is that it happens to books that had correxct informations earlier...

Unfortunately the bots are able to 'correct' information on existing books as well as to import new books. In theory they can no longer override librarian edits, so that's progress, at least.

Not so strange, The bots hadn't been told not to override information entered by humans. It is probably mentioned somewhere in this 13 page thread filled with unhappy librarians.

It wasn't yesterday. The site went down for 9-10 hours.
