Welcome!
Only OP or staff can edit post title or change folder. Others, including Librarians, won't even see edit button.
Liibrarians can't edit others' posts or move them. You can ask the requestor to do it, but it's not required.

Thank you both for responding so quickly. The manual lists certain international libraries. Are other public libraries alright to use? If a poster includes a library link, or I can find a book on a public library site that isn't listed in the manual, are those ok?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi Julie,
Congratulations on becoming a librarian!
Any public library should be ok to use. Last time I looked the Manual didn't include any American ones & they are fine. If you are unsure just ask here. :)
Good to know. A poster requesting an addition provided a link to a foriegn library which was not on that list. I skipped the post but wanted to know for next time.I have poured over the manual and see how to make all sorts of additions and changes to something already in the database with the edit page function. But I don't see anything about adding a new work. I can't use edit page for a page that doesn't exist. Please tell me where I access that function?
Thank you.
Thank you very much. Neither of those techniques are mentioned in the manual.I see posts with authors requesting that we add a work available for purchase from their own website. I don't see that issue addressed in either list for the valid book records or non book items. Rather than ignore these posts, do I add the book or respond that their book acn not be added to Goodreads?
You have all been very helpful to this newby. It is appreciated immensely.
Hi again JulieRather than jumping straight in, you might find it more comfortable to watch how experienced librarians handle issues. Alternatively, page counts are a good starting point. Make sure you read the stickied post for what is required from the op. This goes for any of the stickied posts in folders.
In (part) answer to your question. There is no obligation to do any requests. For example, a lot of librarians don't do books with 'sexy times' or in languages they don't speak.
Just remember - all of us were new once! We are happy to answer questions.
Early on, I didn’t jump right in to a lot of things. Here is a post I made several years ago, describing some of the work I did where I learned so much. There is so much at Goodreads, and can be a “learn by doing” sort of thing.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Julie wrote: "Thanks for the suggestion!"Somewhere I remarked that while I was there, I looked at all of the editions of a title, fixing other title issues (like all caps) or missing covers. Goodreads has matured since then, but I also found incorrect original publication dates or original titles. Sometimes covers show additional authors that need to be added or page counts are missing.

Once I have completed a request, do I edit the post title adding Done and moving the post to the "Added" folder? Or is that action up to the original poster or miderator? As a member posting requests, I have been doing this once someone fixed an issue. Now that I am a librarian I want to make sure that I am following the correct practices.
Thank you.
