Antony Stanton (antonyjstanton) | 37 comments Recently finished "Mexican Gothic", by S. Moreno-Garcia. Anyone else read it? Thoughts?
Currently reading "Empire of the Vampire" by Jay Kristoff... Good so far... A large book, at over 700 pages, but doesn't feel as though it's dragging at all. A lotta world-building going on. I can see film adaptation looming.

Tried to read The Last Days of Jack Sparks and I have no idea what anyone saw in this mess of a book. It wasn't interesting or funny or scary. It made no sense at all and halfway through wasn't going anywhere. DNF.

Starting Dead Moon
Hoping for some good zombie action but I'd settle for even mediocre zombie action... just so there's zombie action, ya know what I mean?

Catherine Cavendish | 314 comments Fearful Implications by the legend that is Ramsey Campbell Fearful Implications by Ramsey Campbell With stunning cover artwork by the uber-talented artist, Ilan Sheady, this is a collection of Ramsey Campbell's most recent short stories and is a must-have addition to anyone's bookshelf. The author shows his consummate mastery of the art of subtle horror writing is alive, well, and thriving. Riveting, disturbing, always entertaining

Randy Money | 432 comments Geez, it's got to be well past time for a companion volume to Alone With the Horrors: The Great Short Fiction, 1961-1991. Which (note to self) I should dig into further -- I've read some but not all of the stories.

Monica Go | 897 comments I started The raven boys cycle. Finished the first in no time and I surprisingly enjoyed it. I'm on the second

Dawn | 191 comments I am there with you Wendy on Jack Sparks, I thought it had great premise and then it was just a hot mess.

Currently reading Jungle Horses by Scott Adlerberg, kind of obsessed with him right now, it’s dark noir with little horror twists and I’m really enjoying his work. Gotta get through the holidays somehow.

destiny ♡ howling libraries (howlinglibraries) | 317 comments I just finished Where the Dead Go to Die and I have to say this may be my new favorite zombie novel. It's a bit on the quiet, emotionally heavy side of horror and WOW, I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while!

Where the Dead Go to Die by Aaron Dries

Dark Legion by John Glasby

This reads like a novelization of a 1960s Hammer Studios horror film—which is not a criticism!

Anthony Marco I finished my reading challenge of 24 books last year. Doing 36 in 2024. Starting out with Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill and then I'm going to read Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.

Jessica | 140 comments I'm able to listen to audiobooks while I'm working so I'm able to knock out a book a day. My reads this week (excluding the fantasy) would be The Girl Next Door - Jack Ketchum, There's No Way I'd Die First - Lisa Springer, The Gravewatcher - Rockwell Scott, They Were Here Before Us - Eric LaRocca, and Black Mouth - Ronald Malfi.

destiny ♡ howling libraries (howlinglibraries) | 317 comments I just finished my NOS4A2 re-read - I might have to make it an annual Christmas tradition. I had forgotten just how incredible it is, especially with Kate Mulgrew's audiobook narration!
