SOLVED. A/YA | Sci-Fi Cyberpunk | Something bad happens to a career body-swapper [s]

This is my first post- I hope I'm doing this right.
I'm looking for a Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk novel I read about a decade ago about a man whose career is to swap minds/bodies with a client (in exchange for a ridiculous amount of money) so he can live through unpleasant experiences for them, like exercising/getting fit, recovering from addictions, disease, and surgery.

Then something Goes Wrong, but I'm not sure what. Either something like his real body gets killed, or maybe he is stopped from swapping out of his clients body, which happens to be wanted/hunted for some reason.

There's Mindswap by Robert Sheckley, but he does it to go on holiday,not as a job.
"In the future, interstellar travel to alien worlds will be too expensive for most ordinary people. It certainly is for Marvin, a college student who wants to take a really good vacation. And so he signs up for what he can afford, a mindswap, in which your consciousness is swapped into the body of an alien lifeform. But Marvin is unlucky, and finds himself in the body of an interstellar criminal, a body that he has to vacate fast.
