books that could've had a better ending??

what's a book that you feel could've ended in a different, "better" way? i'll start bc i'm so passionate about this : BEACH READ.

personally i'm a softie so i love when books have a "happy ever after" type ending, however the topic of Gus and Naomi's divorce never fully being addressed after stating that she wants him back threw me for a loop. i know January and Gus get engaged but hellloooo, what happened with his marriage?!? did they ever divorce fully?

also i heard that in the UK there was an alternate ending to the book but i'm not sure what it is, if anyone wants to discuss that feel free!
