Add a book to existing series

Could you please add a Book 2 to my "The Miniature Project" series?

The publication date can either be left blank or set to 2026 with a random month, if you have to put something.

This book does not exist in the database. This folder is to create series pages or add books to existing series pages.

You can also add the book yourself since you are a verified author. There's a significant backlog.

In the meantime, we can create the series page since book 1 is already in the database. I have to ask you a standard question to ensure that the series meets Goodreads criteria. What makes this a series? Recurring characters, continuing plot, setting?

Oh, cool! I’ll add it myself. It’s a series of collections of short stories and miniatures. Each will come in three parts (dark, spec fic, and realistic fiction) and have miniatures with each story. Thus The Miniature Project.

Sorry, it doesn't sound like it meets Goodreads criteria. From what I understand it's just a common theme [short stories and miniatures]. You can take a look at the policies here https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/... "To be a series, books should have characters and/or universes in common."

I’m so confused. This was a series a week ago. I can screenshot it if you need. I had three books removed from it (long story), but it was a thing already, which is why it already has a series name and a book 1 beside it.

It’s similar to having a series of anthologies, which is common. If I need to recontact the support who deleted the books I will do that, just let me know.

I'll mention that anthologies are rarely a series by GR standards, but you can give some examples & we will take a look at them.

I will just contact the person who helped me a few days ago. He accidentally changed the series after all. If I need to find examples after that, I will.

Also, as I said, it was already on Goodreads. The first book technically still says, (The Miniature Project book one) in the title on the librarian/author side from when it was a series. I’m not sure what happened/why the series accidentally got deleted. I’ve emailed support to get them to reinstate it.

Unfortunately there are many series on Goodreads that aren't series. I am working on one right now & I have a couple of others on a 'to do' list.

We are volunteers & removing a series can take time. Usually it isn't just a matter of hitting a delete button (which is why you have some info on one of the books as that is possibly what happened)

I’m still very confused why it was okay to be a series a week ago but isn’t now.

At least three people have gone into the series for one reason or another, and none of them said it was wrong.

That series looks to share the same universe but I will look more closely tomorrow

There are 65 stories in book 1, and some of the stories do share the same universe (an urban fantasy world I’m writing a lot of things in), just not all.
