I absolutely loved the first book but I'm kinda skeptical about starting the second one since I've heard nothing but bad reviews for this one. Wdyt?

i read the second one and I was not the biggest fan of the book. i think there is even a third one coming out so it is really dragging it in the second

The first book is worth the read. The second one was disappointing
The writing is beautiful but different than most styles of writing as Olivie Blake's writing usually is. I think stating off with a book by her like Alone With You In The Ether or One For My Enemy gives a good introduction to her writing style.

yes its quite fun and interesting but dont have very high expectations
