The newest discussion dropped really late last night and Rodney and I both are excited to get your input on it. Christa Wolf's novel snuck up on us, becoming far more moving and meaningful to us in the time between finishing the book and recording our discussion. We are excited to hear your comments on the episode.

In case you haven't heard the episode yet, the next book for July's episode is "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. This is exciting . . . I have had this book (and author) in my TBR pile for a long while.

I’ve been recommending this book a lot. It wasn’t easy, but I do think it’s worth the struggle.

Docxen | 1 comments the comment about some people might not finish this book hit a bit rough for me lol. I finally told myself in my late 30s that i just don't have time to finish books i'm not enjoying. Some i do keep and hold on to for a later date but i don't let it keep me up at night any longer if i don't finish a book.

Reading should be fun, Docxen. For some people, struggling with a difficult novel just isn't fun. I harbor no judgement toward people that can't stomach a difficult book.

Sometime I need you guys to teach me how to put a book down. I’m too stubborn sometimes.

Tabitha Miller | 32 comments I’ve been way behind on reading but I finally finished this book. It’s definitely a book I would’ve picked having read the description, but I’m not sure I’d read it again. I wanted more at the end. What happens to the family between the past and present? There was also some confusion to me as to whether the authors family moved to the US and then back to Europe? I did appreciate seeing the evolution of Nellys thoughts on what is happening in the world around her. I really just wish the writing style was more concise.
