Combining books

Looks like a workaround)
So searching for work ids does not work? Cause it seems the easiest way to find different books.

Thank you for the idea and for the answers)
Not very happy of course that the methods described in combining itself actually do not work.

I see what you mean. But when I try to filter with work ids if I have a few pages of authors book this anyway show nothing. Just saying there is no such ids.
And for someone like Hemingway this did not work at all as: "This author has too many books to display; use Work IDs to combine. Large works can take a while to display."

Oh, I see now, I thought the numbers are the same as on the book page in url, now I can see they are different)
Thank you for the help, Elizabeth!

If it takes that long, it probably didn't work. Just try again.
Usually it completes right away.
It's merging that takes a while.

Large works can take awhile and some times of the day are better than others. In your time zone, 6-8pm should be OK. And, as Scott says, if they don't combine within an hour, just try it again.
Also, the system likes small, sometimes very small, batches of editions added to the very large works. It doesn't like to combine 25 and more editions with a work that already has several thousand.

This is the book I combined just in case it is easier to see what I mean.

It's there now. The book page takes about 10 minutes to catch up with most of our edits.
the question is - how to find the books to combine them if I have them in different languages.
trying to search by keywords doesn't work as I can't use two languages input at one time.
trying to search by work ids which I take from the book url also does not find anything.
How do you usually do this?
