Invalid ISBN - any way to fix?

Does anyone know why valid ISBNs get flagged as invalid? I've had several instances where the ISBN is listed right there on the publisher's website, but when I try to add it to the book it gets flagged as invalid.

As a follow-up, when this happens, is there any way that we as librarians can fix it, or get around it? Or does it always have to get reported to GR support?

Probably a badbot. If you can't change the status yourself, report to support.
