✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments The Library is located on the third and fourth floors of the castle and contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. The library is where students can go to peruse or borrow books to supplement their studies (or for personal enjoyment). It closes at 9:30pm every day in order to give students time to get back to their common rooms for 10 o’clock curfew.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments Silas walked among the many shelves for several minutes, grabbing books as he went if the title or author interested him. By the time he’d made it through the entire section housing Native American magic, history and folklore, he had a decent sized stack floating beside him. He then made his way to a somewhat secluded nook at the edge of the magical creatures area which was actually quite large. He had originally found this book in first year when browsing for books on creatures native to Japan since at the time his dad had just gotten back from an emergency call and brought home all sorts of stories to tell. Silas didn’t waste any time picking a book at random to skim through and see if it would be worth borrowing.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments Eros walked into the library seeing as it wasn't busy at all as it was only their first full day in the castle since break. He wanted to go ahead and grab the books he was going to find most useful this year and will probably renew periodically. He started in Ancient magic and checked out a book that was only ever checked out by him and by some of the spells questioned why it wasn't in the forbidden section. He had three books and then he had six. By the time he made it to the magizoology books he was unable to see over the stack he had. He went to reach for it, but the stack he was balancing in one arm came crashing down to the floor with a very audible thud. He cursed a few choice words also rather loudly before looking up and around to see if anyone saw him. Unknown to him Silas was right behind him and it was already bad enough he just made a fool of himself, but now he thought no one saw or heard.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments Silas hadn't even noticed someone was approaching as immersed in the book as he was, that was until the loud sound of several heavy books thudding to the ground startled him enough to pull him out of the living history written on the page. The person he saw was not one he was expecting to find here, and Silas hesitated in speaking when he correctly assumed that he himself hadn't been noticed yet as hidden as he was. After the swearing quieted however Silas decided that it would be more awkward if Eros caught him staring or suddenly noticed he wasn't alone than if he spoke up. "Need help with that?"

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments Eros jumped a bit startled by the familiar voice. Of course he wasn't alone. It was only right that someone saw him being clumsy and that tough guy facade fade for a bit. "No, I got it, thanks." He managed thise few words trying not to sound harsh. Eros jumbled the books up in his arms and turned to place them on the desk before turning around to the shelf and grab the book he was reaching for. He waved it in the air looking at Silas as if the book were a trophy to be show off. "Please don't tell anyone you heard that...or saw me." He pleaded with Silas before sitting across from him. Their conversation over the journey here was interesting as far as introductions went. Eros found no seat and happened upon the space where Silas sat alone. From there with awkward introductions and a little small talk Eros found himself staring more than anything. Just as he was in this moment he just stared at Silas.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments "Lucky for you, I'm good with secrets," Silas said with a small, genuine smile. He couldn't help being fondly amused by this whole display since until yesterday on the train he never would have guessed that Eros Nyx, probably the most popular guy in their dorm, would be caught in the situation Silas had just witnessed. Silas scanned the spines of the stack Eros had acquired, curious to see what he had collected. "That's quite the mix of topics you got there," he mused, seeing at least five different classes from his short glance.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments Eros smirked charmingly, but only appeared charming as it was his nervous smile. He dusted one of the books off. "Just some pre-finals light reading I like to have on hand most of the year." He admitted to being a huge book nerd and now he was sitting with one of the cutest guys in school talking about dusty old things. This was going perfectly, just as he imagined their next meeting to go the meeting he was going to invite Silas out for drinks on Saturday. Now that plan was ruined because Eros was now a jerk who swore a lot, a clutz, a know-it-all, and a guy who doesn't want to be seen being human. He rolled his eyes to himself. "Thanks...I'm glad I can count on you." He examined the books for a moment trying not to seem too awkward. And for a moment he thought there was about to be a lot of silence between them.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments ((I'm already loving this lol))

Silas nodded, both in understanding of Eros' explanation and as an acceptance of his thanks. He couldn't help but notice that Eros seemed nervous, although the only reason Silas had noticed was because he was giving Eros more attention than he normally would someone else in the library, particularly when he had an interesting book in front of him. "Pre-finals," he echoed. "Wish I could be as prepared as you, but instead I'm here reading up on a subject that I don't think will ever come up in finals." Silas almost cringed once he had finished the sentence, it sounded rude to his ears and a bit selfish, like he was trying to turn the conversation in his direction when what he'd really meant was to sort of compliment Eros' commitment.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments ((Lol me too its like two awkward guys trying to flirt and seem casual but both are way too insecure with themselves to pull it off without it being awkward.))

Eros raised his eyebrow studying Silas..."Well the pursuits for knowledge are worth the effort for the sake of knowledge. Whether you get tested on the matter of which you study or not." He smiled slightly and opened up a book about magical creatures. He flipped a few pages reading quickly with ease. He then looked up after the moment of silence. Eros then cleared his throat to make some sort of noise. "Did you sleep well after the sorting ceremony last night?" He was trying for some sort of nonsensical small talk, but he didn't really know how to engage the conversation with something stimulating. He just knew he liked Silas and was too nervous to jump over the table and lay one on his lips.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments ((sorry for the wait, I have been trying to post this for hours and eventually gave up and typed it up on the phone))

Silas was caught on Eros’ words for a moment. How had he not seen this side of him before when they had literally shared a dorm and most classes for six years. He must not have been paying attention he supposed. Silas had gotten a few more pages in before Eros spoke up again. It seemed a little bit of an odd question to ask but Silas didn’t think much of it and nodded anyway. “Well enough. You?” Silas knew this must was going extremely awkwardly but had no idea what to do about it and he didn’t feel that weirded out by it anyway being used to people only seeing him as an odd introvert and treating him as such.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments ((It's all good i faced the same dilemma last night it kept saying goodreads was unavailable.))

Eros bit his lower lip only partially as he flipped a few more pages only replying with a nod and soft "mhm". He smiled up at Silas. He didnt know why, but he was going to go out on a limb and get a little personal. "Do you want to go do something crazy?" He offered hopeful for a yes, but only half expecting it. "I mean...I want to go do something out of the normal routine, but I don't really want to do it alone." He spoke softer as he added an explanation to his question. He really liked Silas and felt the best way to approach him on an intimate level was to ensure they could have a quiet conversation without the risk of prying ears. Sure the library was a good place especially on the first full day of school, but he wanted to find a way to get closer to him a way to be able to reach out and perhaps give him human touch. He knew Silas was always alone and ehile he probably had friends he didn't spend much time with them. Eros was always around people he didn't really know and acted rather comfortable in such a situation, but here he was analyzing every second and thought he spent with Silas just to buold some sort of connection with a guy who probably isn't even interested in him. Not to mention it would be very taboo for him to hit on a straight guy who couldn't reciprocate the same intimate feelings. It would crush Eros if he got let down gently by the quiet guy he just thought he had a connection with. He just hated being friend zoned by attractive people even more so if he was attracted to having a conversation with them.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments ((yeah it did that to me too, at midnight so I’m guessing they must have been updating the site))

Silas looked up from his book again, curious as to what had prompted this change. “I’m interested, but what kind of crazy thing are you thinking about,” he asked, preferring to know at least somewhat what he would be getting into. Silas was no stranger to spontaneous crazy things considering he’d grown up around the world with two mazoologist parents, one who was a healer and the other who specialized in dangerous beasts, then you add his four siblings who were drastically different from each other but had all managed to inherit their parents spontaneity and things get even more chaotic. But Silas couldn’t help be feel a little nervous and eager about whatever it was Eros was offering to include him in.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments ((Dont forget about Erik/Ethan and Lena))

((You are probably right about that))

Eros smirked at his acquaintance and stood from his chair. "I know a really interesting place in the forest and I think you would really enjoy it." Eros offered with a hand out. "Come on...there is something in the woods I want to show you." He offered his hand more eagerly. Of course, he could be perverted and just joke around with Silas this hot guy just didnt seem the sort to enjoy a perverted joke. Eros was just used to joking around like that due to all the heterosexuals he hangs around and their toxic masculinity.

✰DoveyV✰ | 499 comments ((I didn’t, it’s just too long to copy to the phone and refuses to post on the laptop, so I’ll probably have to wait until I get wifi, I might try to email myself the comment though so we’ll see if that works))

Silas hesitated a moment more, but decided he was too curious to turn down the offer, the forest always interested him. And he had to admit that Eros interested him too. He closed his book, returning it to the stack he had collected. “Alright,” he replied simply, hesitating yet again to take the outstretched hand but deciding to go for it.

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 309 comments ((Oh right forgot about the troubles i understand no worries do what you gotta do.))

As Silas took his hand Eros pulled him through the library knowing very well their books would still be waiting for them. He walked him out still holding his hand. They passed a small group of Ravenclaw girls who were all giggling as the guys passed by. Making their way out the back courtyard Eros seemed to be moving quickly pulling poor Silas along as quickly as he could without dragging him.

((Posting in the forest))
