The show and movie were phenomenal! I desperately hope we get another season one day because I got to read the first 9 novels and a lot of things that happen after where the series left off are amazing and I can only imagine how it would look if Studio Madhouse produced it. Anyway! This movie was a really good addition to the series because when you read the novels or watch the first season you can see and understand the obvious disadvantages humans have against literally every other race but the movie hits home how terrifying and utterly hopeless the world of Disboard was for imanity before it became the world Sora and Shiro were summoned to. It's a really good tale of the indomitable human spirit against impossible odds. I highly recommend watching this!

I loved the anime. The movie was fantastic as well. I'm up to Volume 4 on the light novel. I'm kind of hoping we get another season on the anime also
Sixteen sentient races inhabit Disboard, a world overseen by Tet, the One True God. The lowest of the sixteen—Imanity—consists of humans, a race with no affinity for magic.
