I've not been able to read much this week. I'm just up to ch22 but should be able to make more progress now.

Same. I haven’t had much time to read in the last 2-3 days. I’m up to chapter 22 as well. Planning on reading today and this weekend.

So that’s a great idea about (view spoiler)[the Buried God being in the well! Wasn’t the Familist the group that was in Maine and was sacrificing women to their God? It was book #12.
I think this is the same group that’s doing the same on the Northumberland moors! (hide spoiler)]

Good question (view spoiler)[ about the buried god. Not sure if that’s what’s in that hole or not (I know I wouldn’t be checking if I found that either 😁). I would guess it’s not only because I think everyone would be in big trouble if the buried god were awake at this point 😬. (hide spoiler)] And it is the same group, Ginger. Glad we’re getting more background on them too.

I agree with the feelings about Ross too. Something is up there.

I've bene listening at work but I must confess I'm having a hard time staying focused on this book. It's been rough since last week due to crappy work environment plus I am trying to get a new job and I won't even lie about the stress. I've been at my job 19 years and I am so not happy there. I am ready for something completely new but I worry so bad about making that decision. Shew! So I am trying. I am sure I've missed a lot of details and scary bits.

I hope you can find something soon! Having a crappy job is just so hard to deal with. The stress involved with it is just too much to deal with. I’ve been there too and send you tons of good vibes for something better!

That stinks, Latasha. I went through a job change like that about 5 years ago after a long time at another company. Nothing but stressful, so I feel your pain. Hoping it works out for the best though. No worries about the book either. Honestly, this one is more complicated than usual it seems. Lots of characters and stories to try to keep straight. Still enjoying it though.

That is the truth! Lots going on and so many more characters. I should do a spreadsheet on this one. 😂🤣
I’m still enjoying it too. Just taking more time to take it all in.

So, I’m still behind on this one. I think I’m up to ch54. Still enjoying it though.

I've been able to get some reading in with this one in the last 3-4 days. I got up to the beginning of Chapter 106. It seems the book gets to a certain point in where all the side stories and characters come together, and it's really hard to quit reading!

I'm really liking this more now after having this happen because there's so much going on and I'm a bit on the edge of my seat now!

Hey all. I finished last night and sorry that I read ahead. I had a couple of library books that I had to get too and the loan date was getting to close.

I'm definitely satisfied by the end. I'm looking forward to seeing what you both think about this one.
I went through some emotions at the end of this one, especially some rage. Connolly writes such fantastic characters, especially evil ones!

Sorry guys, I won’t even lie. I don’t even remember how it ended. The next few I’m gonna buy or get actual copies from the library. I listened to this one.

I’m trying to get this new job and the communication has been absolutely horrible. For job recruiters, they sure don’t know how to answer the damn phone or return calls. It’s been awful and stressful.

Looking for a job is the worst kind of hell. I'm sending you good thoughts and vibes to get through it. I wish that recruiters and places that you've interviewed would let you know one way or another that you got/didn't get the job. The ghosting of companies interviews drives me CRAZY.

I'm going to try and do a review some time today. There was so much going in this one and I definitely liked the end.
I think he could have cut about 100 pages from it though but yet, I get why it's long. There's so many characters and extra story with the UK cops, killers, tracking down who killed the (view spoiler)[girls (hide spoiler)] that it was a lot.
The ending made up for it though and I'm happy with the conclusions.

As humans, I don't think it's good when we get stagnant. We have to keep moving forward and pushing ourselves in some ways. I'm typing this knowing that I need to send in my application to test in my profession. ;) hahaha

Another thing that I love about this series that I don’t get from other series, the (view spoiler)[supernatural elements feel so real. I love this! (hide spoiler)]

Hey Latasha!! Terry and I were looking to read the next Charlie Parker book in the near future and I wanted to see if you are interested. We don't really have a set date but I wanted to see what your time table is if you would like to join.

I believe we are on book #18, The Dirty South. I can't believe we're up to that number after starting so many years ago.
