Carol and Alwynne, I thought about "cleaning" members, but like Carol wrote, I am not sure if it is worth my time, and secondly - silent, passive members don't bother me.

I don't know any groups who bother to do that and in any case there are times when people do revive their accounts after months/sometimes years of silence. A couple of friends who've been inactive on my list have suddenly resurfaced. So seems like unnecessary admin.
FWIW think you're doing a great job. And it might be more productive for us all to return to putting our energies into talking about the actual books.

Thank you, Alwynne ❤️.
Thank you, Alwynne ❤️.

"Oh I don't want to be in the classroom" - is not what I said at all.

Thank you for clarifying, I apologize that I misunderstood.
I also want to thank the Mods for the challenging job of restarting this group which had been dormant and keeping it going.

I feel annoyed when someone takes my suggestions and reinterprets them.
A leader does not run the discussion. I never said that.

In other groups I've seen the option that the person who nominated a book and then it wins the poll etc, this person can - if they like volunteer to lead the discussion. It means that the moderator doesn't have to lead and participate in every single group read.
The idea basically is to mention this at the time of nominations - and each nominee can then state if they would like to lead the discussion.
And this:
The idea of a Lead - is someone who can give some background information and/or state why the book can be of particular interest for the group. It's possible that a leader may have already read the book and wants to revisit?

I often am a silent member in groups. Sometimes I read the book with the group and read the comments without writing any comment (it can be that I have nothing original to say or that what I think is already been written and better). Why "clean" me?

I have no problem with silent members, but they are welcome to comment they have read it, even if they don't want to add anything further. Knowing a book has been read and rated can help with future nominations.
