Melanie | 1911 comments I am a little way into the book. It has Percy Jackson/ mythology vibes. It is doing a good job mixing exposition and getting the story started.

Jennifer | 456 comments I just started it while waiting for my oil to be changed. Thank goodness for books to pass the time.

I agree with you Melanie that it has some Percy Jackson/mythology vibes. I'm pretty okay with that since I really love mythology. I'm also looking forward to learning more about Chinese mythology since I haven't read many books in that category.

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments I am about 60% in now. I’m loving the Chinese history element. It seems as though the author took Gaiman’s idea about the creation of American Gods and applied it to Chinese and American historical figures.

I’m listening to the audio book and the narrator is really good.

Melanie | 1911 comments Now that you mention it, I see the similarities to American Gods. Mostly I thought the concept was a great way yo do historical exposition for a a Western audience in a way that integrates with the stary instead of just ... here have some random history.
