Combining and separating

I'm not entirely clear on the rules for combining/separating editions. I've been reading through the manual and the discussions and I gathered that abridged and expanded editions should all be combined and the differences noted in the edition field.

But what if an edition includes a (separately named) sequel that other editions lack?

This book's title page reads "Mr. Fortune's Maggot and The Salutation" and the back cover states:
"Long after the book's publication, Warner began the novella The Salutation. (...) Mr. Fortune's Maggot and its sequel are now available for the first time ever in one volume."

Should this edition be separated from the ones that only include Mr. Fortune's Maggot?

2-in-1 books or boxed sets that include the given book.

OK, will separate them and change the title to what it says on the title page, for easier distinction.

The Salutation was actually the title story of a collection first published in 1932 (which is not that "long after the book's publication" in 1927, but we'll let it slide), so I suppose that should be the original pub date.

Only the author can change which one is the default edition, which cover is showing in the search.

I too need to combine the two editions of my book Body Movers: Bodies in Trouble (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Witchy Business Book 1) [Kindle Edition]. I changed the book cover and can't seem to get them combined.
