Christopher Rotvik (christopher-rotvik) | 5 comments FYI librarians; below is a copy of a message sent in through Contact Us. I'm posting it here as it involves book page functionality and therefore may be something you'd appreciate knowing about:

In regard to the book links which can be configured for a book page under Account Settings > Book Links, the existing links “Lulu.com” (2243 uses as of May 27) and “Lulu” (51 uses) are incorrectly formatted for the current instance of Lulu’s website; both return a 404 (page not found) error.

I’ve added a new link, titled “Lulu Bookstore,” which formats the URL correctly for the current instance of Lulu’s website and returns the expected ISBN13 and title search results (see https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... for working examples). Note that the ISBN10 field in the book link setup has been left blank, as it appears Lulu does not support (certainly does not in my case) searches using the ISBN10.

The remaining issue is that there are currently 2,294 uses of the non-functional book links (“Lulu.com” and “Lulu”), guaranteed to fail, and negatively impacting Goodreads reader experience (and therefore the Goodreads brand) as well as author revenue (and therefore the perceived value of Goodreads).

If there is some means by which these previous book links (“Lulu.com” and “Lulu”) can be updated (ideally, in an automated fashion), I’m certain that Goodreads readers and authors would be appreciative.

Linde | 6549 comments Hi there, I'm going through the old requests without 'Done', 'Retired', 'Solved' or 'Completed' in the title (max 1 year old), to see if we missed any requests (no reply from a librarian). Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for sharing. As this is about a feature of Goodreads itself, we, the Librarians cannot do anything about this. If this is still an issue, you can go to Goodreads support again via the Contact Us page and ask it there.

Please help the Librarians to focus on the requests that are still open, by moving this topic to the "Archived" folder (and your other completed requests*). I can't do that. Instructions:
1. Click on the tiny "edit"-button at the right of the topic's title (only available for desktop/laptop, not in the app)
2. Change the folder to "Archived"
3. Don't forget to click on "SAVE"

Greetings

* It would be great if you moved all your 'done' requests about adding new books/editions to the "[Closed] Added Books/Editions" folder and all the other 'done' requests to the "Archived" folder. Go to the Home page of the Goodreads Librarians Group and click on "My Group Topics" (find an example screen shot here.).
