Nicole D. | 1573 comments A feel good book about 9/11? Who'd have thought?

It's still impossible to become immersed in the topic of 9/11 and not get emotional. I most certainly am not the same person I was then ... I'd say any sense of patriotism I had at the time has waned. In other words, I'm disgusted by politics. But that point in time will probably always grab us.

This was a good book - I wasn't blown away but I appreciated it for what it was. Snippets of people's lives who were impacted by the closing of US air space in the wake of 9/11 and the welcome they got in Canada. May the people of Gander, Newfoundland never change.

Nicole D. | 1573 comments p.s. this captcha situation on goodreads has gotten insane ... I have to check it on every post .... is that the same for everybody? Or is it just because I'm so inactive?

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12661 comments This is one of my all time favorites. Newfoundland and Guernsey (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society ) are two place on my bucket list now

On and off for me ... sometimes it makes me want to shut off the computer and go to bed.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11142 comments I loved this book. It makes me feel good that there are so many people willing to help other people. My county is expecting many refugees soon. I don't know the details yet, but I hope there are groups doing something to help them (rather than picket against them).

This book inspires me to do something to help.

The unemployment rate is relatively low right now, so that's one less reason for people to complain.

It might help to remove temporary files, close your browser and reboot your computer.

My computer is really slow today, so I think I'll try that myself.
