Clarification regarding ISBN sources

I have not added the ISBN/ASIN for now in the request https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... . The ASIN is listed on Amazon, but the ISBN source is not mentioned. Wanted to confirm that it's okay to go ahead with ASIN instead of ISBN until the user responds.

Can I follow what is suggested here for ISBN: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ? I could not find any info in the manual about using a personal copy as an ISBN source
