Delay in New Book Appearing?

I added a new book yesterday, and received the usual confirmation with the usual note that "it may take up to 10 minutes" for the book to show up in searches. It's now been over 12 hours. How can I tell if something has gone wrong? I'm uncomfortable with the idea of adding it again, since then I may wind up with multiple copies on GR

Thanks, and thanks for combining. I have merged before but would have looked it up if you had not. And thanks for the information on books without an ISBN. This locally produced (but retail) book did not have one, and I now know that means that it can be significantly delayed.

The note I got confirming that I had added the book told me that “it can take up to ten minutes for an added book to be found in searches” or something close to that.

I thank you both for the advice and help. My quoting the confirmation note was just to indicate where I got the idea of 10 minutes, not as a challenge to your experience. I think you've helped me solve this problem, and I am grateful.

I wish the staff would change this message to more accurately reflect reality.

Back in March, I sent them a request to do so, when I reported a bug with adding "new" entries to a series (anything less than 3 days old didn't appear in the series search results). Since then, the delays seem to have gotten longer. And I still haven't heard anything back -- nor has that "10 minutes" message changed.

Well yeah that always worked. I meant title or author, which is supposedly what most people use.
