Original title field

I couldn't find anything on the original title field in the manual and searching the discussions didn't help either.

Should the original title field ONLY be filled in when there has been a change in title (f.e. with a translated edition), or may or even should it always be filled in?

There is a place where the title does not show when the original title is not filled in: Stats - publication year.
So I always fill in the original title when adding a new book.

I agree with Arenda. Also, the next person adding a book may not know the original title, so if you know what it is, share the wealth!

Thanks! I'm now doing it religiously, not only when adding, but also when I come across books that have no original title showing yet.
