Question to fellow librarians. Since yesterday, all my merged are stuck and never reach the "edition: Deleted" phase. Is this just for me or is it a general problem?

Same as Lieke, haven't tried today. Fwiw the longest queue time I've experienced is 3 days, so I know it can be looooong but still working.

I did one after reading this and after 1.5 hours it is still stuck, so I think it is a general problem

I've had long waits, but they were on high count merges. These are mostly very low count editions. However, I now realize the first merge that was stuck was with 123,560 adds. Perhaps the queue delays my other deletes.ETA: Reading Lieke's message, I may have broken the server.
It (combine) was working earlier today, but for me it also doesn't seem to be working now.ETA: it is working again (for me)
currently it's not working for me - with (obviously) low number merges. (waiting more than 2hrs for a 1 shelving merge)but combine also doesn't (again)
One of my merges managed to succeed, but all the rest are still stuck. Support were useless as ususal.

Lieke wrote: "I did one after reading this and after 1.5 hours it is still stuck, so I think it is a general problem"It went through 2 hours ago, so it took around 16 hours...
the ones I left open from yesterday (after I read your posting) are still not gone through.Luckily it were none where a recombine was needed.
I've stopped answering requests on the supers folder. My watch list already includes two dozen editions and it makes no sense to add more.Halp!
Is it possible something isn't showing properly/the same in the changelog?I queued one over an hour ago and have been watching closely because of this thread. But then I looked at the statistics for the book that is supposed to receive the adds/reviews and they reflect the numbers of the deleted edition.
I do them now in series. The last series of deletes took 17 hours, except for one book that is now waiting three days, and I resubmitted it.

Thanks for the updated reports. We're still investigating why this is happening. I'll let you know any updates as I have them.

Most of my deletes from May 11 have just finished, putting the delay at close to three days (64 hours to be exact). However, some are still stuck. In other words, this is getting worse.

Renske wrote: "I saw some of my merges have gone through after about 4 days."I guess I should be encouraged (?) that at least it works. I'm still waiting for my May 11 merges.
Thanks for posting, my oldest in the queue are from May 12th. Good to know I need to have a bit more patience.

Dear Diary,It's been six days since I last witnessed a functioning delete, and my faith is dwindling. Are deletes now extinct? I can't help but wonder how our world would appear without this vital function.
All deletes? No, there was a little record that made it through :-DLet's call it Deletix. (are the english Asterix names also build with ix? :D)
(it took more than a day but it did delete yesterday or so, but mine have probably way fewer ratings than yours)

I think the activity of the bot is slowing things down across the site.
I've definitely noticed this as well with the 11th seeming to be where they got stuck. Some have finally gone through after several days (see below) but I think I have others that still haven't.14 deletions on the 11th went through on the 14th
1 deletion on the 11th went through on the 15th
2 deletions on the 11th went through on the 16th
Melanie wrote: "I've definitely noticed this as well with the 11th seeming to be where they got stuck. Bumping the long wait times with deletions to the team's attention. So sorry for the ongoing trouble with this!

Here is ChatGPS's interpretation, I found that interesting (and alarming)Dear Diary,
In the realm of my thoughts, I find myself contemplating the absence of a functional delete for seven consecutive days. The notion of delete's potential extinction lingers in my mind, leaving me uncertain and questioning. What would our world resemble in the absence of this fundamental function?
Yours introspectively,

Wow! Thank goodness we won't have to live in that post-apocalyptic hell. We've made a couple of changes and deletes should start to process as usual. Thanks for your patience while we investigated.

I asked ChatGPT to respond to itself (spoiler tag for length):

Jaclyn wrote: "We've made a couple of changes and deletes should start to process as usual. Thanks for your patience while we investigated."I'm sorry to say but the improvement is very minor. One of my deletes from the 11th have managed to pass through but nothing else did. I even resubmitted some of the deletes in hope that they will "process as usual", but so far nothing changed.

Sorry, it seems I spoke too soon! We've identified the issue and a solution, but are still making the required changes.

Peroikos wrote: "Is there a way to see what edits/actions of mine are still queued?"There is no way I am aware of, but the only actions where queueing is relevant is deletions, as these need to be completed before recombining. I simply keep a list of links to the librarian edits page of all deletes I make.
