If you lived in the world of MSTV & MBTW...

Hi everyone! I thought it'd be fun if I created this little challenge thing for us all to do. Basically the idea of it is that you pick random characters from MSTV out of a jar and each of them represents a certain aspect of what your life would be like if you lived in the the MSTV world. Theoretically, of course - this is just for fun!

The categories are:

-Your best friend
-Your worst enemy
-Your long-lost twin
-Your co-star in a movie or school play
-Your boyfriend/girlfriend
-Your next-door neighbour
-The person who will reveal the Blood Secret to you
-Your lab partner in Science

As you may have guessed, they are inspired by different relationships between people in MSTV. If anyone has any other ideas, feel free to do those as well!

So here's how you do it:

First, write down the names of eight characters from MSTV on slips of paper. They can be any characters (I recommend doing a variety to make it more interesting), but you cannot do the same character twice.

Fold up all the pieces of paper and put them in a jar, cup, or similar container.

Make your way down the list of categories above, picking one slip of paper out of the jar at random for each one. You must pick the first character you get for each category, except for the 'boyfriend/girlfriend' one. If you pick a character who is not of your gender preference, keep picking until you get one that is - but then stop! The point of this challenge is to see what and who you get when leaving it to fate, not what you would necessarily choose yourself.

If you don't want to do the slips of paper thing, another way to do it is to flip through the pages of a MSTV book, stop at random, then the first name you see counts for the category you are choosing for at the time. If you see the same name twice, repeat the process until you get a new one. This way of doing it is probably easier but chances are you'll come across lots of Ivy and Olivia's names so be warned for that!

The last thing to do is to share your results below! I'm sure we all want to know how everyone else did.

You could also try it with characters from MBTW if you would like, or it might be interesting if you posted a comment telling us who you would have chosen for each category if you could. ;)

Wow! I got some of the worst possible. Camilla as an enemy and Charlotte as my twin (wouldn't be too bad I guess) not to mention Garrick as my boyfriend. At least Charles is going to reveal to blood secret to me and Brendan wouldn't be the worst lab partner ever.

Okay! So I'm quite pleased with how my results turned out, though a little disappointed it all fits with canon pretty well. Like I can see Charlotte being my worst enemy, Mr. Vega being an option of telling the Blood Secret, and Sophia being my girlfriend (provided we're the same age at the time, of course!)

Maybe we should add some more roles. e.g. Who would introduce you to the Holiday Bat? Or maybe we can take the existing roles and put MSTMB members on slips instead of characters. (Excluding some roles, like the boyfriend/girlfriend role.)

Those are cool ideas! A role I didn't include was 'the person who would recommend books to you', so we could do that for the added MSTV ones. I'll have a think about some My Brother the Werewolf roles.

I had a quick go at the My Brother the Werewolf version of this game. Here's what I got...

I'm pretty happy with how that turned out! Apart from Riley as a football coach everyone actually fits their role well. I'm not so sure Mackenzie would be the most charming band member but we'll roll with it.

I just picked some random characters from both MSTV and MBTW, thought that might have been a mistake seeing how random this turned out! It's cool that Olivia's sercretly a vampire and Lillian's a werewolf, but honestly I never doubted Mr Morgan was a bunny! Jackson and Sophia as my adoptive parents is sort of weird but it could be a lot worse. I guess if I'm sharing Camilla's life aspiration I want to be a famous movie director, and with Prince Alex's style I'll always look formal and presentable. I was hoping to get Camilla's style but I imagine he has pretty good fashion sense too. And the story of my life is being the unwilling most popular girl in school and being a matchmaker... uh, OK! Overall really weird picks but it turned out not too bad!

I'm really happy with my answers. It's a shame Lillian has left Charles but I reckon Lillian and Winifred would make awesome mums! Mrs Abbott being a vampire is so cool. Having Patience not trust me would be slightly creepy but it really fits. I guess I want to be an interior designer like Charles and have the same style as Brendan's dad (that one's weird, lol). Wow, Lillian and Winifred is the coolest parent combination! Can you imagine; Winifred would write bestselling books and Lillian would direct the movies of them. Those two would take on the world together! Mrs Abbott certainly did a great job of hiding she's a vampire! Lol, I love that your style is the same as Brendan's dad - he's so work obsessed I doubt he pays any attention to his clothes! Tough luck there. The first storyline you mentioned from Puppy Love sounds like a pretty cool life story, not sure about the second one though...

I've had a new idea for this game - how about we choose characters who would be in certain groups from the series with us? Here are the ones I can think of:

-Band (from MBTW)
-Putting on a play (from Lucky Break {MSTV#7})
-Football team (from MBTW)
-School newspaper team (from Fangtastic {MSTV#2})
-Cheerleading squad (from MSTV & MBTW)
-All Hallows Ball planning committee (from Switched {MSTV#1})
-Werewolf gatherings (from MBTW)
-Baking club (from Stake Out {MSTV#12})

So the idea is for each of the groups you randomly pick characters, and they would be in the group with you. Obviously you can do as many of the ones I've come up with as you want, and if you have any other ideas definitely add them! I'm sure there's plenty of other ones we could use. I'd advise doing three characters for each group. That's quite a lot of characters overall - so it should a great opportunity to really get creative with who you choose! ...Hopefully all of that makes sense. Hope you guys have fun with this, be sure to tell us all your results if you do it! :)

Yay I love this game, it's so much fun! I wrote down 12 MSTV characters and 12 MBTW characters and then mixed them up. Here's what I got:

I'm in a band with Justin, Ed and Camilla which sounds like fun to me. I'd play drums, Camilla would be composer and play maybe bass guitar or piano. I can picture Ed singing/howling like Daniel and then hopefully Justin can learn some guitar from Daniel!

I'm putting on a play with Sophia, Prince Alex and Emma which again sounds awesome! I'm on the football team with Penny, Reiko and Milo. Not too sure about this one, Reiko is sporty so that's fine but I'm not sure how good Penny or Milo would be.

I'm putting together the school newspaper with Daniel, Jackson and Brendan. So good! Though I don't think Daniel would be interested, too mainstream for him. ;)

This one is funny... I'm cheerleading with Debi (good so far), Nathan (Daniel's bandmate from MBTW) and Chris (footballer/werewolf from MBTW). LOL. I'm on the All Hallows Ball planning committee with Tessa, Kyle and Mackenzie. Mackenzie would be hell, hopefully Kyle would put her in her place (but maybe he'd just not help at all) and Tessa would do all the work.

I'm going to a werewolf gathering with three non-werewolves for some reason. Finn, Riley and Bethany. No idea why but sounds fun. And finally I'm going to be baking with Toby, Otto and Amelia. Got to be honest not really looking forward to this one.

And Sophia seemed to be very capable at the behind-the-scenes stuff in the play they put on in Lucky Break (MSTV#7). That just leaves you - do you think you'd act or help out backstage? :)

Haha, I would love to see Nathan and Chris as cheerleaders! Hopefully Debi could teach them a few moves. Though I guess if they really got into it Nathan would have great rhythm and Chris would be able to do some epic lifts!

OK, here's my results for the groups:

I'm in a band with Milo, Justin and Petra - Ivy's boarding school friend from Flying Solo (MSTV#11). To be honest our band is probably going to suck, I mean, Milo and Justin aren't very good at music and I'm pretty sure both me and Petra have never had an interest in being in a band!

I'm putting on a play with Ivy, Amy Teller (Jackson's agent) and Albert (the Franklin Grove museum caretaker). This might not actually be too bad. I quite like the theatre and since Amy works in Hollywood I'm sure she'd be helpful. Ivy was good at it in Lucky Break (MSTV#7) and Albert seems to like the dramatic - yeah, pretty happy with this one!

I'm on a football team with Kyle, Miss Samantha (the nice dance teacher from Tail Spin {MBTW#4}) and Charles. I reckon me and Samantha could hold up pretty well, Kyle would be a good captain, and as for Charles, I'm not so sure. I guess he has super vamp abilities, so that might help him out?

I'm doing the school newspaper team with Garrick Stephens, Principal Caine (that super moody lady from MBTW) and Will (Jackson's stunt double from Double Disaster (MSTV#13). I guess this one's OK? As the headteacher Ms. Caine would be helpful I'm sure, and Will's like the nicest guy ever so I'd be happy to work with him. Garrick would be annoying no matter which of these groups he got put into with me, so I guess being on the newspaper team with him is better than most!

On the cheerleading squad with me would be Reiko, Mackenzie and Riley, which I'm actually really happy with. Yes, Mackenzie would be annoying but she is a cheerleader. Reiko's really sporty and has vamp abilities so I'm sure she'd do great and Riley would have the dedication to make us all keep going!

Helping me plan the All Hallows Ball is Justin and Daniel's mum, Mr Hawthorne (the nice old man who (view spoiler)[helped Daniel (hide spoiler)] in Howl-oween {MBTW#3}) and Alice (the waitress Charles (view spoiler)[went on a date with (hide spoiler)] in Vampalicious {MSTV#4). Not really sure what to make of this one... but I guess it's good I got the responsible adults for this one instead of on the cheerleading squad or something weird. :D

I'm going to a werewolf gathering with Daniel, Olivia and Jessica Phelps (the mean actress from Star Style {MSTV#8}). Maybe we could just give Jessica the slip or something - then I'm sure this would be a heap of fun!

And finally I'll be baking with Brendan, Debi and Otto (from Daniel's band). Not sure how interested Otto would be but with Brendan and Debi I bet it'd be fun.

It is so fun! I'm not sure about the play, both sound cool. I'd probably end up doing something behind the scenes. It could be a joint effort with everyone doing a little bit of acting and then some behind the scenes as well. Alex could write the script as well as acting as he's into poetry and I imagine quite talented at the arts.

I never thought of it like that, Nathan and Chris could be really good at cheerleading!

You've got a mix of great and weird ones, my favourites are your cheer squad and the All Hallows Ball planning committee. It's a weird one at first but Alice is arty and Justin and Daniel's mum is into music and it's interesting to involve the adults in this game, I always forget them.
