Going over 128 editions and figuring out which ones need to be split is quite a job. If you can point out the editions that need to be split, any librarian can help you with it, you don't need a superlibrarian.

I agree that it shouldn't need a superlibrarian, but there seems to have been a rule made which I don't understand. Perhaps the restriction of the ability to merge editions was meant to prevent problems. Whatever, someone has made a very careless mistake, and it's very frustrating that Goodreads thinks this is OK and that wanting to display books with appropriate covers is a worse thing to do than these very basic errors.

1. The merge was done by a bot. Trust me, you wouldn't find anyone more upset about this than librarians. Many millions of invalid and incorrect additions were made, and we are very frustrated with that.
2. Splitting does not require a superlibrarian. This folder is only for requests that do require a superlibrarian. You posted in the wrong folder.
3. You may find a librarian willing to spend an afternoon reviewing all those editions and splitting, or you may not. So instead, if this is important to you, link the editions to split, which will be done quickly and efficiently. Alternatively, contact support. They get paid to do it.
The first is two novels both called Another Country,
One is by James Baldwin
The other is by Anjali Joseph
If this is the work of someone with librarian status, let alone superlibrarian status, I am quite concerned, because it's a very simple thing to check
