RETURNED TO THE LAND Rachel bat Shimson is living in a world in which the Second Temple in Jerusalem was never destroyed. As part of her studies in archaeology at the university in Anatolia, the country we know as Turkey, she travels to various archaeological sites. The turning point for Rachel’s dreams about her future comes when she goes to Jerusalem for the festival of Pesach with her twin sister, Leah, her long-time boyfriend, Samuel, and his family. She becomes increasingly determined to work in Judea, which we think of as Israel. Leah and Samuel are both rooted in Anatolia. How will the twins deal with this coming separation? Will her relationship with Samuel be able to withstand a move to Judea?
