I am looking for help with any information I can get on this book. Who uploaded it? When it was uploaded? IP address maybe? Why none of it appears to be a real book besides this Goodreads page? Was it ever a "real" book

I know absolutely nothing about how to do any of this so any help is appreciated. I need to figure out who because the books title is referencing my daughter and the picture of the cover is a picture of me kissing my ex wife. No one seems to be able to explain how all this stuff got on the internet.

Thank you so very much in advance for any time and help you provide!

Martin | 36028 comments I think the data was automatically retrieved from Amazon, so it looks as though the 'book' was at some stage on Amazon.

Librarians will not be able to help further with this so it would be best for you to contact staff at this link https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...

Mesembryanthemum | 196 comments Matthew, to answer your specific questions, I looked at the change log for this "book". (Goodreads staff and librarians can see the history of changes for each book record.)

It was created and updated by the "goodreads mass editor" and "amazon_kcw" bots -- automated programs for importing books and updating book records.

The cover was imported by the "amazon_kcw" bot on August 9, 2019. The "goodreads mass editor" bot created and updated the book on February 8, 2020. Presumably, this "book" had a listing on Amazon between those two dates.

I'm sorry the librarians can't help with this issue. The Goodreads staff can delete this "book" and perhaps answer your questions more thoroughly. But they probably won't know anything about the original Amazon listing.

Matthew Hand | 2 comments that is awesome thank you so much for letting me know what you did. Has me pointed in the right direction I feel at least.

Scott | 9446 comments A Kindle edition would have had to come from Amazon, as it is their exclusive format. With that generic design it's clearly a self-published book and these are often "here today, gone tomorrow."

Mesembryanthemum | 196 comments P.S. One more piece of information: According to the record's statistics, one Goodreads user has marked this "book" as "Want to Read". However, the stats don't show the user name. The statistics are available here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/stats?...

Never mind. I see that you are the user who marked this book as "Want to Read".

Matthew wants to read it and I don't blame him.

Mesembryanthemum | 196 comments It's an easy way to keep track of the book record. Matthew, I wish you luck in solving this mystery.
