Krisi (krisireads444) | 92 comments I am looking forward read books where the main character is suffering from eating disorder(specifically an0rexia or any other restrictive ed). Don’t ask me why (i love reading books that make me physically uncomfortable).

With a given; TW; for EDs, and death (generalizing it to not spoil it).
Read this late last year in one day, worth a read. :)

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 985 comments The fourth volume of the Heartstopper series has ED rep. It's labeled as anorexia in the book but I feel like the symptoms match up to arfid more than anorexia

maya ☆ (is furiously studying!) (chicknotcorea) for you, i have 'mémoire de fille' or in english, 'a girl's story', by annie ernaux.

she's a french author and this story is a personal one since la fille de s in this book, is annie ernaux herself. this is about her own experience.

we deal more with the repercussions of sa, which annie ernaux explains it came in many forms such as ed, self-hysexualisation, dissociation and more over the two years after the event and current day, 2016. the way it is written, you see just in the way it's written the dissociation and the impact of the event as she divides herself before and after the sa. you see it in the content and following events, the choice of words within the same sentence that evokes an inner conflict, the names, and more.

personally, i can never forget this book. nothing is glamorized. just annie and this story laid so bare, it's raw... again, there is a straightforwardness in annie ernaux's writing that is just self-reflecting and precise yet so moving, it's earnest incarnate.

i can never talk enough about it. my words cannot render justice to this work. i can never forget this book.
