It was a good, but expensive, way to gather information. I'm not sure they could have gotten information on other possible victims any other way. I thought it heroic.

I'm leaning toward foolish. They really didn't have much of a plan other than to find out what was on his computer. They didn't say how they were going to actually get to his computer or how they would get thru it's security. I don't think any of them are hackers.

Getting into the session was what they were after. Anything after that was just a further way into his operation. They were looking for other victims.

I thought Sophie was a little foolish thinking she was gonna somehow get something off the computer but I saw no real harm in going to a seminar and recording it and taking some notes. I might change my mind about whether or not Sophie and Cordie were foolish when they followed Shields out of town if I had more details about what they did there or if I had paid very much attention to the short phone convo that detailed that info. By then, I had already written Shields off as a possible suspect and didn't have much interest in that plot line.

I thought they were foolish and careless because they went into it blind - very little details and absolutely no back up. They suspected the man of murder whether he did it or not. Going to the seminar was okay, but the rest was a bit foolish in my eyes. I kept wondering if one of them was going to get taken or something but the plot didn't go that way.

I didn't think they were foolish to attend the seminar. Sophie's goal is to be an investigative reporter. This part of the story was short on details after the seminar.
