Hi! I’d love to join the librarians group so that I can stop emailing support, and therefore just edit my own book information. Thank you!

Joining the Librarians Group does not mean becoming a librarian. Members who want to become a librarian should do a quiz and even when passing they do not automatically get librarian status.I see that you are a Goodreads Author. GR Authors cannot become librarians, but you should be able to edit your own books (depending on what it is you want to edit).
This was an easy place to add books that are not listed on goodreads but no longer. The instructions are a labirynth that steer you mostly to monsthly paid subscriptions. There is a mention of "free" membership. Good luck in finding it!

There are no paid subscriptions for Goodreads members. I'm sorry you've had difficulty finding the instructions on how to have a book added to the Goodreads catalog. They are the first pinned post in the Adding New Books & Editions folder:
How to request a book to be added to Goodreads provides a template you can copy/paste into a new post in that folder. Fill in the information, and submit. That's all there is to it.

I posted my request as you instructed about June 14 and have yet to see my book added: Boleslaw Prus, Kroniki.
There is quite a backlog in at least a couple of the folders. Unfortunately, Adding Books is one. I see that there has been about 35 *pages* of new requests added since June 14th. You can bump your request if you want, which moves it to the current day. If you do that, it's best if you add [Open] to your request heading so librarians will know the request hasn't been answered yet.For the cover image of the book, if you can scan or take a photo of the front cover, we can use that. Add the photo to your profile here: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/new
In your request, add a line that you took a photo of the cover from the book you have and put it on your profile page. Include a link to the photo.
That gives a librarian all the information they need to create the new record.
