Contemporary romance > One MC pair throughout series or different MC pair per book?

1)when u just have one pair of MCs throughout the whole series?
Or
2) where the first book would be about two people, and then the next book's MC would be a cousin/sibling/friend of one the MCs from the first book

I love both types, but i definitely prefer option 1, as i like seeing the romance develop more. I am curious to see what others think.

Lauren White | 15 comments Depends on the genre. For romance, different MC pairs for different books. Big HEA girly. For fantasy with a romance subplot, 1 MC pair for the series. If romance is the subplot, not the storyline, I like seeing how the romance develops and strengthens over time.
