Dan initially began a sexual relationship with Jenn because he thought she’d be easier to bed than someone like Maria and he needed the outlet. When did you sense his feelings began to change where he seemed to need her more than she did him? What caused him to evolve and did he ever develop deep feelings for her?

It is clear that Dan thought Jenn would be an easy lay, argh!
Nevertheless, I believe that he does fall in love with her. She is smart, thoughtful and caring. After his recent experiences, he comes to realize that he needs that. She, of course, deserves better.

Dan is such a jerk. Back in the day we called these guys "chubby chasers" they went for the plus size women because they thought they were needy and would put out. I was glad to see that Dan at least appreciated her mind, sense of humor and other qualities once he got to know her. I think he began to rethink the easy lay as he got to know her and was fascinated by her as a person. That said, he's still a jerk.

I agree with you both and her sleeping with him that first night was disappointing, though not because it was too soon. She should have seen right through him.

Dan had never spent much time with a woman of substance though it was obvious that, deep down, he craved that kind of relationship. He was looking for someone to truly care about him and he found that in Jenn. I believe he fell in love.


But still a big jerk.

I was very surprised that Jenn didn't realize what Dan was up to when she slept with him the first night. She came off as needy. First she put up with the smarmy detective. Then she put up with Dan.
She seemed smarter than that.

I think she was smarter than that but just didn’t have a high opinion of herself.
