We learn from the prologue that Alyssa Locke was the real target. What affect did that have as you progressed through the story?

Lauren (laurenjberman) As with the previous book with Dave, the prologue had me waiting for the moment Alyssa would be taken. While I understand that this technique keeps the tension ratcheted up, I am not a fan. Books need to have lulls in the tension - having the reader constantly on alert is exhausting.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 3009 comments Waiting for the shoe to drop made the suspense greater. Like Lauren said, being on constant alert was exhausting.

Glad to see I’m not alone in this thinking. Exhausting is the perfect word. I saw the bogeyman behind every corner.

Robin (robinmy) | 2485 comments Agree. You know it's coming but after a while the waiting gets old.
