Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
I'm here. I can captain if no one else wants to. I did it last time, so I'm pretty confident that I can do it without screwing up too terribly badly.Any name suggestions. All I've got is 14 Going on 40.
For my free space I will either read Blood Cross, the series being #47 on the UF Recommendation thread, or A Sinister Revenge, which can be found on the SOS group bookshelf (because I just added it before the game started!)
I did find a free space book it's on the SOS shelf and it's free on Audible with a membership. I'll post when I'm not on the app.
What all do I need to do to be captain? As we all know I hate to check ins, hence why my challenges have minimal check ins going on.
Berit, there is tracking and 2 different places to post for the check-ins. I honestly don’t mind doing it.

Shelf #1 ~27 April: DetectiveDIRECT LINK(s) ~ a character who is a detective or police officer; series or title contains “Detective” -or- Paranormal Detective/Detectives
Leslie Ann wrote: "I will readMagic and the Shinigami Detective

This one actually fits today's call. :)
I'm going to make A Sinister Revenge my Free Space book, and Blood Cross my Detective book. It's been shelved Detective by 5 people.Book: Blood Cross
Pages: 321
How it fits: Shelved Detective by 5 people
Laura does it have to be shelved detective even if there is a sheriff or detective in it? I can't seem to remember, it's been a while.
Berit Talks Books wrote: "Laura does it have to be shelved detective even if there is a sheriff or detective in it? I can't seem to remember, it's been a while."For this task, the options are:
1. Character is a Detective/Police Officer
2. Detective in title/series title
3. Shelved Paranormal Detective
4. Shelved Detective
(links for both of those shelves are in my post #23).
Berit Talks Books wrote: "A name? I'm so bad at making these up."I've still got nothing other than 14 Going On 40. Which wouldn't be nearly as good of a movie as 13 Going On 30!

Review:
I enjoyed this book. I loved the world and all the magic. I especially like Jamie Edwards and Henri Davenforth. I really loved Henri and his eating and the humor of the book. I will definitely be reading the second book.
Selection PostShelf #1 ~27 April: Detective
A Trick of the Light
Chief Inspector Gamache Is the main character
That I'm good with any name, the team with no name? I think I figured out what I'm going to read for detective. But I reserve the right to change my mind, lol
Completion Post - DetectiveBook: Blood Cross

Review: I don't know why it took me so long to start the second book after reading the first. I even had to re-read the first, but this one is action-packed. There is still a lot of world-building happening, but the author is doing that naturally (no info-dumps!). I love Jane, and seeing her relationships with Molly and Angie was sweet. And I agree that Rick is a better choice than Bruiser (because of the whole blood servant thing!).

Review:
I love these books. The author Louise Penny is a master mystery writer with wonderful characterization. I have grown to love 3 pines and all the flawed characters in it. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
Shelf #2 ~ 4 May: May DayDIRECT LINK(s) ~ book released in May of any year; character, title or series name contains "May"; author first or last name begins with M or D
I'm going to read Thwarting Cheaters, published May 6, 2020. 262 pages. Or 337 pages, according to Amazon.
Berit Talks Books wrote: "I finished my first two books, I will get them posted ASAP."Thanks, Berit!
