Jessica Miller entered an exclusive, wealthy college and made rich, beautiful friends. These were the first steps to the perfect life she craved. In their final year one of those friends, Heather, is murdered and another suspected, though not indicted. 10 years later Jessica is a polished, success businesswoman on her way to their college reunion. Their group get-together is strained when Heather's brother confronts them. He know one of them killed his sister and will expose all their secrets to uncover the murderer.

The novel bounces between the reunion and college timelines, usually from Jessica's point of view, revealing secrets in both. It was a really addictive read, I blew threw it. Coming off another novel that made me think of 1990s Lifetime movies I had that in mind reading this as well. Several of the secrets and motivations are a bit improbable, so the suspended disbelief of a psychological thriller is required - that way the promise of the title is fulfilled.
