We can use Ms. Gleason for the American Civil War category in the Setting Challenge. We have not had an author whose books are set in the United States for this year for the setting Challenge.
I have never read the Lincoln White House Mystery series, but I did pick up book 1 and will read it in May.
I checked out her website
She writes under many names has many series.

Thanks Alice.
I've read her Envy Chronicles series under her name Joss Warre, but that is a futuristic dystopian, not historical mystery.

I started Murder in the Lincoln White House last night. I am really enjoying it. The writing style is please with no too many descriptions make it boring. I really like the way Ms. Gleason writes her characters. Obviously we have President Lincoln but he does not dominate the book but always a gentle reminder. Our main Character, Adam Quinn, is very interesting and you want to learn more about his previous like in Kansas. Now I need more time to read it.

I finished Murder in the Lincoln White House (Lincoln's White House, Bk 1) 4 stars out of 5. Set in March 1861 at President's Lincoln inauguration. I very much enjoyed this book. She writes her characters very well. You want to get to know them. Our main character, Adam Quinn, is from Kansas and has know link since childhool. Ms. Gleason of President Lincoln is a mild man who is trying to do right by the country. She brings alive the issue of slavery and the fear of the Free people of color who lived in Washington DC at that time. She does a wonderful description of fashion at the inaugeral ball and dealing with all the hoop skirts. I hope to find book 2 and read that soon.

Always glad to read a new author however and I did fulfill one of the challenge categories.

I think my favorite part was the portrayal was President Lincoln's humbleness. Seemed like a person you could sit down and talk to.
