I'd like to warn people that there will be spoilers in this comment as I don't know how to tell a story without spoiling it (why I just read the synopsis when trying to convince people to read a book nowadays ahahah
Moreover I think, it's impossible to describe this book without spoiling it's content.

Details about the book
I read this book circa 2016 and it takes place in California. I'm pretty sure the writer is American as well.

The cheater (Main female character): Parker (The one I'm the least sure about)


So it's the story of a computer genius who regularly disappears without reason for a few days, which annoys the girl that he just started dating. It should be said that when he starts seriously dating her, a women in his inner circle doesn't approve of it, but we don't know why yet (like his doctor? secretary? former girlfriend? family friend).

Minor spoilers starting from here, if I remember correctly you discover that part pretty early in the book


The female protagonist starts investigating his disappearances and finds out that he actually has a split personality disorder that he doesn't know about. He doesn't remember what happens during those days he disappears and none of his personalities are aware of the others.
The computer genius personality being his real and most important personality of all.
So she sets out to find him during those times to make his other personality fall in love with her as well. I don't remember if he has more than two personalities. I'm pretty sure that is actually the case, and that he alternates between them. But, it's always between his computer genius one and another one.
The book focuses on the rough around-the-edge and the computer genius ones.
The rough-around the edge one is super jealous of the computer genius one, and he says so when she even goes as far as bringing him at the house she shares with the computer genius one, saying the other one is away on a work trip.
The rough-around the edge one has a truck and the computer genius one owns a few sleek sports cars, I don't know why but it feels relevant somehow.

Major spoilers ahead

We discover that the MC has something akin to ADHD and he takes a drug to regulate it. But those drugs are actually the ones causing him to have his split personality disorder, but they also make him super efficient at his job.
He keeps taking them because his woman friend tells him to, and he listens to her as she has some sort of hold over him. And as she will make a lot of money out of his company, she really pushes for him to keep taking them, even when it is found out that they actually harm his health (not sure of that part of the plot, and if it is true, I don't remember the health problem if brings out).
The main female protagonist sets out to lessen that hold so the male protagonist can choose if he wants to keep on taking the drugs or if he wants to start living more normally.
In the end, they of course live happily ever after as the male protagonist chose to embrace his disorders and stops taking the drugs.

I've been looking for that book title for a while now and it has been bugging me a lot.
