* Description: A tome of truth it is, authentic in its prose, authentic in its story, authentic in its emotions, authentic in its experiences, authentic in its imagery - "Letters from the Land of Humans" is woven from many truths. And being true, it is meant for all, regardless of who one is, what one does, or which nation one hails from; the gender, age, or interests of the reader are unknown. But if there is an affinity, or even a slight fondness, for that which is genuine, this book will "touch" the soul. The author has encapsulated it in the title itself: letters from the land of Humans. "Letters" are meant for sharing sentiments, not for grandstanding, and when it comes to sentiments, they need not be contrived. "Land of humans" implies that these sentiments are meant for all of us, without exception. The word "from" in the book title also implies a subtle truth!
This book comprises 47 essays (or one may prefer to call them 47 letters) accompanied by numerous photographs that the author has painstakingly written and captured over a decade: about literature, poetry, cinema, photography, people, homes, Earth, the Universe, life and death, and even cucumbers. It is believed that, to a greater or lesser extent, the reader will empathize and be moved by the author's experiences and reflections. Just as one may suddenly understand something - something that may not have been understood or may have evaded in the endless loop of life before.
No further words shall be written about this book, lest it becomes "over-polished." Instead, the next pages are meant for the reader to flip through and immerse themselves in their own musings.
Finally, borrowing three lines from Sándor Márai's "Four Seasons, Sky, and Earth" to answer a question posed by someone: "What will one gain from reading this book?"
"I know, the essence of life does not change, we do not become better, nobler, or more authentic because of it. But we become more human. Nevertheless, we become more human."
