Is your basic edit like copy-editing?

basic editing is grammar, spelling primarily and any major issues I may notice. copy editing is more like developmental editing so I look at the story as a whole including plot, sentence structure, character development, spelling, grammar, fact checking. it's basically a full edit of the manuscript after its initially been finished
