Author John B. Doe (example) published a book in 2018 (hardcover and Kindle). In 2023 the book was republished with John Doe on the cover (no middle initial) - paperback and Kindle.
What's the best way to combine the four editions?
Thanks!

Put them all under John B. Doe.

By changing the author name on the new editions or adding John B. Doe as a secondary author?

Just change the whole name. There is no need to have two.
If neither author profile is claimed, you can merge them.

Since John B. Doe encompasses John Doe, there is no need to add both versions (unless John Doe is the claimed profile).
People searching for John Doe will find the John B. Doe books.
