74 year old Barry Walker, born in Antigua but migrated to England, married to Carmel, father, grandfather. And for the last 60 years has held a clandestine relationship with Morris - the love of his life.

The audio for this book was wonderful, with two narrators alternating between Barry and Carmel. I fell in love with all three of the main characters - Barry, Morris and Carmel and found myself wanting for them to all find happiness.

It was an interesting look at what life would have been like before it was socially acceptable to be gay - and the culture shock for that generation when (if) they decide to come out.
