Just finished it..another great book!
I'm currently reading this one . . . I have a few suspicions, but Ms Hannon is known for throwing curveballs, so I guess I need to suspect that my suspicions may likely be wrong!😂

Sorry - picked up the wrong questions! Thanks for catching it:)

1. Who was your favorite character and why?
2. What were Trish's greatest problems? Did stress play a part?
3. What twist or turn was the most surprising to you? Why?
4. Did Hannon include a good balance of romance and suspense, or would you have changed it?
5. Did you feel that Colin was staying impartial in his investigation? Why or why not?
6. What did you like most about this book?
2. What were Trish's greatest problems? Did stress play a part?
~Stress absolutely played a part in what happened with 'Matthew'. I don't think she would have been able to be gaslit so thoroughly if she hadn't already been under extreme stress.
4. Did Hannon include a good balance of romance and suspense, or would you have changed it?
~Sometimes this is hard to pull off. Some of her more recent books have seemed a little too heavy on the romance end of things, but this one, I didn't really notice that happening, so for me, it was a good balance.
5. Did you feel that Colin was staying impartial in his investigation? Why or why not?
~I think he did the best he could with staying impartial (aside from handing off the case to someone else entirely). Though, perhaps inventing reasons to see her/talk to her when she was still technically a person of interest might not have been the most wise thing he could have done, impartiality notwithstanding.
6. What did you like most about this book?
~Honestly? I loved meeting the 'Treehouse Gang'. I loved how each of them had that easy relationship that comes with years of knowing and trusting each other.

I think you will really like her Rachel.

My favorite character was Trish. I admire her strength and her trust in the Lord even when life was hard. The character suffered so much yet trusted God so completely.
As I continued to read and discovered the struggles that Trish faced, I was reminded of Job. Her life was turned upside down as was Job’s. She also seemingly lost everything. Yet because she was faithful to the Lord, He brought goodness back to her life. This in no way replaced her husband or mother, but God did not forsake her.
I was totally caught off guard when it was revealed that Craig was really Michael, Matt’s twin and that he had assumed Matt’s identity. I had really thought that Craig was forcing Matt to do the terrible things he was doing. When this part of the story was revealed, I could not put the book down until I finished it!
For me, this book was the perfect balance of romance and suspense. These two aspects were so wonderfully entwined that it just made it a good read.
5. I think Colin did the best he could to be impartial given the situation. It would have been difficulty to maintain professionalism given the trauma that Trish was going through. I think he probably shared more confidential info with Trish than what would be acceptable in an open investigation.
I liked that I could not figure out the ending of the book until I got there. This kept my attention and my desire to keep reading.

Trish Bailey is on overload trying to deal with a demanding job, an ailing mother, and a healing heart. When a series of unsettling memory lapses leads to a tragic death—and puts Trish under police scrutiny—her world is once again thrown into turmoil.
Detective Colin Flynn isn't certain what to think of the facts he uncovers during his investigation. Did Trish simply make a terrible mistake or is there more to the case than meets the eye? As he searches for answers, disturbing information begins to emerge—and if the forces at work are as evil as he suspects, the situation isn't just dangerous . . . it's deadly.
