Confusing

I don't understand why Nyx didn't mention the escaped pre-trans when the males were all insisting escaping was impossible. At the very least she should've been concerned about the safety of her sister and grandfather once they mentioned the tracker and the lengths they'd go to retrieve escapees. Not to mention how ultimately helpful it would've been to know his son was already free. The second thing is she shows up in a prison saying I'm here to find my sister Janelle and didn't think maybe showing the picture on her phone could be helpful? Nether of these lapses made any sense at all to me. And like others it bothers me that we learn nothing of the jackal's background, why would he go into such savage modes, fangs the length of daggers? I've never heard of that before.
