briley | 6 comments a good girl’s guide to murder series! it’s YA and sometimes a little juvenile, but the story is really good and keeps you guessing! I tore through the first one and now am on the second, i definitely think it could help get you out of your slump!

Picmao Slumps can be very annoying and hard to find something that you want to read. I think it ultimately depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a short, quick, easy read, a little romance novel might be the best option. I loved The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. If you're looking for a page turner thriller, I would highly recommend The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. If you want to escape reality and dive into fantasy, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas might be a good fit, although I will admit the beginning chapters are quite slow. Another good fantasy that I love that is a little less "high, complex fantasy" is a historical fantasy book called A Walk on Earth A Stranger by Rae Carson. It's about a girl with the ability to feel real gold around her, during the time period of the California Gold Rush. She runs away from home and has to make the long walk across the country to a new life, while hiding her ability. Lastly, if you're looking for more dystopian, post-apocalyptical setting fiction, I would suggest The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey (yes, the one based on the movie). Very quick, adventurous read that is not super complex or hard to grasp. Like I previously stated, slumps can be hard but I don't think one specific book can get you out of a reading slump. I think you have to ultimately decide which genre first because some genres can be harder to grasp in a slump than others. Good luck, hope these helped, and happy reading!
